The Princess Margaret Hospital Cell Therapy Program is supported by a variety of funding sources, including government research grants, industry partnerships and charitable donations.

Funding for the facilities has been obtained primarily Grants from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Ontario Innovation Trust, Ontario Research Fund along with generous donations from philanthropists. To date, we have obtained approximately $23 M in infrastructure funding for the three facilities.

Operational funding is needed to pay for the salaries of the staff and to maintain the clean room facility, including the annual certification of all equipment, the monitoring system, gas, utilities and other charges. There has been no sustained source for operational funding for the facility. Traditional grants mechanisms do not provide funding for core operations. Fundraising from other sources is therefore essential in order to maintain and expand the Program and enable it to become one of the best in the world.

Working together with the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation, the program has benefited from many charitable donations which have supported important translational and clinical research studies.
